OpenAI has launched a new API service for the o1-pro model, which is said to be similar to the o1 pro mode in the ChatGPT Pro app, priced at a hefty $200 per month. The standout feature of o1-pro is its significantly higher price, up to 10 times more than o1, at $150 per million tokens for input and $600 per million tokens for output.
Other features closely resemble o1, such as a context window size of 200,000 tokens, 100,000 tokens for output, support for function calls, and JSON output format.
Previously, Sam Altman mentioned that the $200 monthly fee for ChatGPT Pro was a loss leader, so it’s not surprising that the cost for this expensive API could exceed $200 per person if users input a large amount of data and engage frequently.
