Bill Gates’ Prognostication: 3 Professions Immune to AI’s Job Usurpation

As the world transitions into an era where AI is revolutionizing nearly every aspect of society, people are beginning to worry about being displaced. An IPPR report found that around 8 million positions in the UK are at risk of being eliminated due to AI.

Furthermore, studies have shown that the banking sector is also turning to AI, with approximately 54% planning to implement AI technologies. This aligns with Singapore’s DBS bank, which recently announced the potential dismissal of 4,000 employees over the next 3 years in favor of AI utilization. The fear of humans being replaced by robots or AI is escalating steadily.

Most recently, Microsoft co-founder and global billionaire Bill Gates expressed his thoughts on the matter. He stated that AI will likely outperform humans in almost every task but does not diminish human authority in any way; it all depends on how it is utilized.

Gates believes that at least three occupations will remain immune to AI takeover: coders, biologists, and energy experts. He emphasizes the continued need for human craftsmanship in coding and the necessity of human expertise in rectifying errors and advancing AI.

In terms of biologists, AI excels in disease diagnosis and DNA analysis, but lacks creativity. The world still requires innovative research in biology and scientific discoveries.

While AI may assist with addressing climate change issues, experts in the energy field cannot be replaced due to the complexity of the tasks involved.

TLDR: AI is poised to transform various industries, potentially displacing millions of workers, yet certain professions such as coders, biologists, and energy specialists may remain unaffected. Human expertise and creativity are still essential in advancing AI and solving complex problems.
