Monetization Restrictions Imposed by YouTube on Screen Culture and KH Studio Following Implementation of AI for Fabricating Fake Film Samples

Entertainment news outlet Deadline reported that YouTube has suspended ad revenue from channels Screen Culture and KH Studio after creating fake movie scenes using AI technology, such as The Fantastic Four, Superman, and James Bond.

Warner Bros. Discovery and Sony did not attempt to remove these videos, but partnered with YouTube to redirect ad revenue towards them instead. YouTube removed both channels from the partner program for violating revenue generation rules and spreading false information, allowing them to appeal.

The founder of KH Studio confirmed that their videos were purely fictional for entertainment, with no intention to deceive anyone. On the other hand, the Screen Culture founder seemed unconcerned, questioning, “Where is the harm in this?”

Additionally, Deadline asked YouTube why their platform’s algorithm promotes fake content more than real content, but YouTube declined to comment.
