The two companies have collaborated previously, with Hugging Face partnering with Pollen to create LeRobot, an AI platform for training open-source robots. This successful partnership has led to the acquisition deal.

The acquisition of the robotics company has allowed Hugging Face to introduce Reachy 2, a robot developed by Pollen, into their product lineup. Reachy 2 is a research and education robot that supports both visual and audio capabilities, priced at $70,000 each.
