Motorola has unveiled its vertical foldable phone, the Razr, for the year 2025, now upgraded to the Razr 60 in some markets.
Introducing the Motorola Razr 2025 lineup, consisting of three sub-models: Razr, Razr+, and the newly added Razr Ultra, expanding beyond the previous Razr+ and Razr models.
The flagship Motorola Razr 60 Ultra boasts top-of-the-line specs packed into a foldable form factor, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 16GB of RAM, 68W fast charging, an expanded 7-inch inner display, and a dual 50MP camera setup.
A notable design feature of the Razr 60 Ultra is the “wood back” option, reminiscent of the Moto X from 2013, along with three other material choices: Alcantara, satin fabric, and leather, all developed in collaboration with Pantone.
On the other hand, the Razr+ and Razr sub-models see a decline in specs, with the Razr+ sporting the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and the standard Razr equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X.
The software on the Razr 60 embraces modern AI technology, featuring Moto AI with various AI-powered features and the personal assistant Gemini, running on the standard Android platform but with a twist as Motorola partners with Perplexity to preload the app onto the device for AI-powered data search capabilities, marking Perplexity’s entry into the smartphone market.
In a groundbreaking move, Perplexity will now come pre-installed on all new Motorola devices, providing users with AI-powered search and assistant functionalities within the Moto ecosystem, along with a complimentary 3-month Pro subscription.
Prices for the Razr lineup start at $700 for the Razr, $1,000 for the Razr+, and $1,300 for the Razr Ultra.
