Previously, there was speculation that Apple would seize the opportunity at the iMac and MacBook Pro launch to change the accessories for Mac, making them all compatible with USB-C ports instead of the current Lightning ports, in line with the direction that the iPhone 15 has switched to USB-C. However, unfortunately, that time has not yet come.
On Apple’s website, it states that the included accessories for those purchasing an iMac still use Lightning ports. Apple provides a USB-C to Lightning adapter cable, but the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard still rely on Lightning ports. Additionally, separate accessory purchases, including the Magic Trackpad, also continue to utilize the Lightning port.
It appears that we will have to wait a bit longer for Apple to transition all products from the Lightning port to USB-C.
TLDR: Despite speculation that Apple would switch to USB-C ports for its iMac and MacBook Pro accessories, currently, the company still uses Lightning ports for included accessories and separate purchases. Transitioning to USB-C may take more time. (69 words)
