Described as the largest investment deal in the Asia Pacific region, Blackstone awaits approval from Australian regulatory authorities for this transaction. AirTrunk offers hyper-scale data center services across Asia Pacific, with locations in Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, totaling 800 megawatts and plans to expand to support up to 1 gigawatt in the future.
Jon Gray, the President and COO of Blackstone, views this deal as a strategic move to cater to the increasing demand for data centers in light of the growing investments in AI technologies. The company anticipates a surge in data center needs over the next 5 years.
