Acquisition of ChatGPT Edu by California State University Benefits Over 500,000 Students and Staff

California State University (CSU), a university in the United States with 23 campuses, announced the acquisition of ChatGPT Edu for 460,000 students and over 63,000 university staff. This deal marks the largest in terms of user numbers for OpenAI.

While this may be the largest deal to date, renowned universities have previously purchased ChatGPT services for their organizations, such as Harvard, London Business School, and the University of Oxford.

OpenAI states that using artificial intelligence as a tutor increases student engagement. MicroSoft’s studies have also found that workforce skills in AI make job hunting easier.
