From the Business Messaging Summit Thailand 2024, Meta reported user behavior on various platforms, as well as unveiling new features to be added. Meta currently aims to be a central hub connecting multiple platforms to Messenger to provide convenience for both buyers and sellers. This has led to the introduction of new features such as:

The Cart Pinning feature – where customers can view products offered by the store and inquire about them via Messenger while browsing the store’s live. This feature was developed and tested in collaboration with V rich App, an app that provides e-commerce solutions.

Live Boosting, which was made available earlier this year, helps create opportunities for businesses to reach customers more easily.

The Catalog Integration feature connects product catalogs to Messenger chats through the collaboration of Meta and Shopee. This allows businesses to link product catalogs from Shopee into the message box, enabling buyers to scroll through products without toggling screens and make purchases directly in chat.

Meta stated that 69% of users are satisfied with communicating with businesses through AI chatbots, leading Meta to develop an ‘AI Agent’ Thai language system using Meta’s Llama 3 language model.

Furthermore, Meta revealed statistics surveying user satisfaction through Messenger, showing that 91% of businesses are satisfied with using Messenger to chat with customers, and 76% can reach target customers through ads on Facebook leading to contact via Messenger.

On the consumer side, Meta also mentioned that 56% of Thai consumers regularly contact various businesses through Messenger every week.

Meta concluded by emphasizing the strength of Meta’s Discovery engine, where AI can generate timelines tailored to users’ interests. This makes Meta confident that these upcoming features will be able to recommend products tailored to each user, providing more convenience for businesses and consumers than ever before.
