Zoom has announced new features in its AI Companion 2.0 suite, which serves as an artificial intelligence assistant for managing various tasks on the platform. These include a chatbot question and answer system, content search assistance from various documents, appointment-task creation system in projects, summarizing unread content, and summarizing content in email threads.
These features are said to be available for use within this month without any additional charges for paying Zoom customers. Additionally, Zoom has announced plans to release custom AI features for customers, such as connecting with external platforms for use within organizations like ServiceNow, Zendesk, Box, Jira, and Workday. AI will learn specific vocabulary within the organization, create meeting templates in the organization’s format, and more.
Furthermore, Zoom is preparing to add a feature to create auto-generated AI video messages for Zoom Clips, capable of creating videos mimicking short clips from users. Zoom confirms that measures have been put in place to prevent misuse such as deepfakes.
These additional custom AI features will incur an extra charge of $12 per user per month and are set to be available for use in the first half of 2025.
