Raspberry Pi has unveiled its latest AI product, the AI HAT+. This add-on board is similar to the AI Kit, offering two performance options: 13 TOPS with the AI Hailo-8L accelerator chip, equivalent to the AI Kit, and 26 TOPS with the Hailo-8 chip.
What sets the AI HAT+ apart from the AI Kit is its direct connection of the acceleration chip to the board, bypassing the M.2 slot. This not only simplifies management but also aids in heat dissipation.
The AI HAT+ can be used in conjunction with the AI Kit, allowing general models that run on the Hailo-8L to be processed together with the Hailo-8, except for models specifically designed for the Hailo-8.
Pricing for the AI HAT+ starts at $70 for the 13 TOPS version and $110 for the 26 TOPS version.

TLDR: Raspberry Pi has introduced the AI HAT+, a new AI accelerator board offering 13 TOPS and 26 TOPS performance options with Hailo-8L and Hailo-8 chips, respectively. This board features direct chip connection for easier management and improved heat dissipation. It can be used in conjunction with the AI Kit, except for models specifically designed for Hailo-8.
