AI-Powered Age Verification by Google for User Content Customization Begins in America First

Google has announced its plan to implement AI technology to detect whether users are under the age of 18. This will impact the registration and usage across all Google products, including YouTube.

If the system detects users under 18, the display of various content and information will be controlled to ensure a safer experience for young users. For instance, search results for videos deemed suitable for viewers above 18 will not be shown. Additionally, users in this age group can join parental supervision accounts through Google Family Link for better content monitoring.

Google refers to this process as Age Verification using Machine Learning. This model has already started affecting users in the United States this year and will expand to global users in the future.

TLDR: Google will use AI to check if users are under 18, adjusting content display for safety and expanding the process globally.
