AI-Powered Audible: Narrators Can Now Use Artificial Intelligence to Record Books in Their Own Voice, while Still Having the Option to Accept Jobs and Customize Their Sound

Audible, the world’s largest audiobook platform, has introduced a new feature that allows narrators to train AI to create audiobooks without having to read them themselves. This innovative process is similar to the current audiobook production process, where narrators must submit their voice samples to rights holders before proceeding with the actual reading. However, with the use of AI-generated voices, narrators can submit samples without having to read the entire book. They can also make adjustments to the AI-generated voices before final submission, giving them control over which books they narrate.

For Audible users, the website will clearly indicate which books have been read by AI voices. While Audible has previously offered AI-generated audiobooks for free to rights holders, the quality was not up to par. With this new initiative, selected narrators will be invited to create AI voices before allowing rights holders to test them out this year.

TLDR: Audible introduces a new feature that allows narrators to train AI to create audiobooks, giving them more control over the content they narrate. Selected narrators will have the opportunity to create AI voices for testing by rights holders.
