Google has announced that the Google Vids app, which uses artificial intelligence Gemini to create videos from documents, will now be available for general use for Workspace customers in select groups, including Business, Enterprise, Essentials, and Education Plus. Previously, it was only accessible through Workspace Labs for customers who purchased the Gemini for Workspace add-on package.
Google Vids was launched in April, allowing users to create videos from documents in Google Drive, with options to choose formats, customize inserted images, and add small details. Users can also insert their own voice-over, record their screen, or add additional audio files.
Initially, certain features in Google Vids will have limited availability, such as the Help me create feature or synthetic voice creation, which will be accessible until the end of next year (December 31, 2025), and Google may limit usage in 2026 and beyond.

TLDR: Google Vids, powered by Gemini AI, allows Workspace users to create videos from documents with customization options, but some features may be limited after 2025.
