AMD Announces Pricing for Ryzen 9000 Starting at $279, Launching on August 8th

AMD will release the Ryzen 9000 desktop CPUs tomorrow, August 8, after a slight delay due to quality issues with the initial batches. They will announce the prices of the Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, which consist of 4 sub-models, as follows:

August 8

Ryzen 7 9700X priced at $359
Ryzen 5 9600X priced at $279

August 15

Ryzen 9 9950X priced at $649
Ryzen 9 9900X priced at $449

The Ryzen 9000, codenamed “Granite Ridge”, is the first top-tier desktop CPU to use the Zen 5 architecture. It boasts a 16% improvement in instructions per cycle (IPC) and consumes on average 30% less power compared to the Zen 4 architecture CPUs with equivalent performance.
