AMD has unveiled the smaller server CPU model, Epyc 4004 series, which is smaller than previous Epyc models (current models include 9004 Genoa, 97X4 Bergamo, and 8004 Sienna). Epyc 4004 series is designed for small-scale servers (tower and 1-2U rack sizes) with a single CPU. It competes against Intel’s Xeon E-2400. AMD boasts that the performance of Epyc 4564P (16 cores) surpasses that of the Xeon E-2488 by 1.8 times. The Epyc 4004 series offers options from the smallest 4124P with 4 Zen 4 cores to the 12-core 4564P and models ending with PX have a large 128MB cache to choose from.
