AMD’s Rumored Plan to Unveil Additional Radeon Submodels: Introducing the 7600 XT, 7700, and 7800

There have been leaks from the Arktek graphics card brand (headquartered in Hong Kong) suggesting that we might see AMD unveil additional variants of the Radeon series, namely the Radeon RX 7600 XT, RX 7700, and RX 7800, in the near future.

Currently, AMD offers a lineup of 6 sub-models in their Radeon RX 7000 desktop graphics card series. The lowest-end model is the Radeon RX 7600 (without the XT designation) with an introductory price of $269. Moving up the range, we have the Radeon RX 7700 XT priced at $459. There is still a price gap to accommodate the release of more products.

If the information from Arktek proves to be true, we can expect the Radeon RX 7600 XT and RX 7700 to fill this gap, along with the Radeon RX 7800 bridging the gap between the 7700 XT and 7800 XT.

Another related piece of information comes from Gigabyte, who has registered the product name Radeon RX 7600 XT. They specify that this variant will come with a generous 16GB of RAM (the standard 7600 model comes with 8GB). This contradicts previous information suggesting that the 7600 XT would include 10/12GB of RAM. Furthermore, the 16GB figure surpasses the 12GB of RAM offered by the 7700 XT. Only time will tell if this information is accurate.

It is expected that AMD will use the CES 2024 trade show platform to unveil these new graphics cards, sometime in the early stages of the new year. AMD had previously stated that they would not release new GPU chips in the 7000 series, but they may release sub-models with the same chip, with core/clock/memory adjustments made.

TLDR: Rumors suggest that AMD may soon introduce the Radeon RX 7600 XT, RX 7700, and RX 7800 graphics cards to address the pricing gaps in their current lineup. Additional information indicates that the Gigabyte variant of the 7600 XT could feature a larger 16GB RAM configuration. These new cards may be unveiled at CES 2024.
