AWS has announced the opening of a new Region in Taiwan, set to begin services in early 2025, coinciding with the launch in Thailand.
Currently, AWS operates a total of 33 Regions, including 105 Availability Zones worldwide, with plans to expand further by adding 21 Availability Zones and 7 more Regions in Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Europe (specifically for government agencies known as AWS European Sovereign Cloud), and Taiwan.
Previously, AWS introduced AWS Outposts and AWS Local Zones in Taiwan ahead of Thailand, starting with smaller-scale services before expanding to Regions.
