After Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows in May, aiming to provide developers with a platform to develop software for AI PCs using the Snapdragon X Elite chipset on the latest Windows 11 OS, they have now announced the cancellation of the Snapdragon Dev Kit. This includes discontinuing support for the device and issuing refunds to all buyers, whether they received the device or not, without the need to return the product.
The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows marked the debut of a computer utilizing the X1E-00-1DE chipset, the top-tier model of the Snapdragon X Elite. However, the delivery of this kit to developers faced challenges as the manufacturer experienced delays in shipping. Originally scheduled for delivery in July, it wasn’t until the end of September that the kits were finally sent out. Additionally, the kits had severe issues, not meeting Qualcomm’s product standards, ultimately leading to the decision to cancel the Snapdragon Dev Kit and provide refunds to all buyers.
