SK hynix has announced an investment of approximately 3.87 billion dollars to establish a high-end semiconductor packaging plant, as well as an AI product research and development center in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The facility will primarily produce HBM memory units and DRAM chips, essential products for current AI processing. Production is expected to commence in the latter half of 2028, supported by state and local agencies.
Additionally, SK Hynix has confirmed plans to invest 122 million won in the Yongin Industrial Complex in South Korea, declared in January.
