Riot Games, the creators of Valorant, announced the release of a new Xbox Series X|S version of the popular 5v5 team shooter game. This marks the first time Valorant has been released on a console, previously only available on PC.
The Xbox version of Valorant will have separate matchmaking between PC and console players (no crossplay), but will synchronize the status of characters, items, and friends between console and PC. Riot Games promises that the Xbox version will receive patches every 2 weeks along with the PC version.
The game will have a limited beta test on Xbox starting on June 14 in the regions of the United States, Europe, and Japan, with plans to expand testing in the future.
New players jumping into Valorant for the first time will have limited roster of characters until unlocked through gameplay conditions, but those with Xbox Game Pass will have access to all characters right from the start.
