Ubisoft had initially announced the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in 2020, with the first mention of a release in 2021. However, the game has been repeatedly delayed until it seemingly disappeared altogether.
In the latest Ubisoft Forward event last night, Ubisoft finally revealed that the new game will be released in 2026, a staggering 5-year delay from the original plan. The main studio responsible for the remake is Ubisoft Montreal, the same studio that created the original game in 2003, with additional support from Ubisoft studios worldwide in Toronto, Bucharest, Paris, and Pune.
As for other Prince of Persia games that have been announced and released later, DLC content has been revealed as follows:
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown announced the first DLC called Mask of Darkness to be released in September 2024.
The Rogue Prince of Persia is currently in Early Access and has announced free updates like The Temple of Fire and plans for version 1.0 in 2025.

TLDR: Ubisoft has delayed the release of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake to 2026, while other Prince of Persia games have announced additional DLC content and updates.
