In the recent Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, he anticipates new Apple products apart from the upcoming iPhone 16 scheduled to be unveiled next month as per their customary annual release. Apple is expected to introduce the new AirPods wireless earbuds as well.
Gurman suggests that the new AirPods, also known as AirPods 4, will come in two variants as previously rumored. The more affordable model will feature basic wireless earbud functions currently available on the market. Meanwhile, the higher-priced model will include Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology. According to the plan, Apple will discontinue all existing AirPods models, replacing the lower-priced model with AirPods 2 and the higher-priced model potentially with AirPods 3. Additionally, all models will switch to USB-C charging, marking the end of Lightning charging.
