Reports of changes in Apple’s management team have surfaced once again, courtesy of Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. According to sources familiar with the matter, Gary Geaves, the Vice President overseeing Audio products, has stepped down from his position and appointed Ruchir Davé as the new leader of the department, which comprises approximately 300 employees.
The responsibilities of the Audio team extend beyond products like AirPods and HomePod to the development of Spatial Audio technology utilized in various Apple products, including Vision Pro.
Geaves has not officially left Apple but has transitioned to work alongside Matt Costello, who oversees the design of Beats and HomePod products, in a role advising the Audio team as he prepares for retirement from the company.
This change is significant as Geaves has played a crucial role in the development of HomePod over the past two years, primarily focusing on enhancing the entire AirPods product lineup, amidst rumors of new product details to be unveiled this year.
