Mark Gurman of Bloomberg recently reported on rumors about Apple’s new products in the latest Power On newsletter. This time, the focus is on a significant iPhone lineup, with the following details:
Starting with the iPhone 16, which Apple is expected to unveil next month. Rumors have been circulating, and Gurman summarized the key points as follows:
– There are 4 sub-models as usual: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max.
– The highlight this time is that all models will feature Apple Intelligence (previous models only had it on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max).
– The regular and Plus models will have a solid Action Button.
– A new button will be added at the bottom right corner (at least on the Pro model) specifically for the camera. Half press for digital camera-like focusing, long press to take a picture, and swipe on the button for zooming in and out.
– The Pro model will have a larger screen, with the Pro increasing from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches and the Pro Max from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches.
– There will be new colors replacing the blue color in the Pro model, expected to be rose gold, A18 chip, and at least 8GB of RAM on all models.
Despite this year’s products, Gurman also provided information on the iPhone 17 for 2025, supplementing Ming-Chi Kuo’s previous information about the Ultra-Slim model, as follows:
– The iPhone 17 will have three sub-models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, with the Plus model being discontinued.
– There will be a fourth model, with Apple experimenting with various designs including Mini and Plus, this time focusing on the “Air” concept, emphasizing a standout thin design not seen in other iPhones. The hardware specs may not be very prominent, but it is speculated that this fourth iPhone model could be a foldable screen, with Gurman suggesting the earliest possibility is 2027.
Lastly, the iPhone SE, expected to be unveiled early next year in 2025, will feature a body similar to the iPhone 14, an OLED screen, and possibly Apple Intelligence.
TL;DR: Bloomberg reports on rumors of Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup, including the iPhone 16 set to launch next month with various new features and design changes, as well as information on the future iPhone 17 and a potential foldable iPhone by 2027.
