OpenAI has announced the appointment of two additional senior executives to support the company’s growth as a leading research organization in AI and to create AI that is secure for everyone.
The first person appointed is Sarah Friar in the position of CFO, responsible for investing in various research projects to meet customer needs. Friar, former CEO of social platform Nextdoor and CFO of Square, currently holds positions as Co-Chair of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab and board member of Walmart and Consensys.
Another executive appointed is Kevin Weil as Chief Product Officer, overseeing the development of research into products and services for customers, developers, and businesses. Weil’s previous roles include co-founder of Facebook’s Libra, Head of Product at Instagram, and VP of Product at Twitter.
