ASUS Continues NUC Journey post-Intel Partnership Year with a Focus on Stability and Product Expansion in the Coming Year

Jackie Hsu, the executive of ASUS, sat down for an interview with The Register on the occasion of the [1-year anniversary of acquiring Intel’s NUC business](https://www.blognone.com/node/136045). Reflecting on the past year, he emphasized the stability during the transition period, both in terms of product lines and the NUC team inherited from Intel, despite some team members leaving and a group of customers switching to other products.

Hsu noted that the groundwork in the first year has been completed, and his focus in the second year will be on growth and introducing new innovations to NUC. One such example is using NUC to meet the demands of customers needing real-time generative AI solutions. For instance, McDonald’s in Australia currently employs NUC for self-service kiosks, with more customers looking for interactive real-time ordering systems. The company has partnered with NVIDIA and Microsoft to run Copilot on the next-generation NUC with AI acceleration chips installed.

Another internal restructuring by ASUS involves integrating NUC with the server team, enabling NUC to be marketed to large enterprises, expanding its market beyond digital signage. Meanwhile, the gaming market remains a priority, as ASUS rolled out the ROG NUC earlier this year with plans for future hardware upgrades.

TLDR: ASUS’s Jackie Hsu discusses the progress and future plans for the NUC business acquired from Intel, focusing on stability, growth, and innovation.
