He mentioned the possibility of ASUS unveiling the second iteration of the ASUS ROG Ally gaming console by 2024. Su also revealed that the first version of Ally sold around 7-8 thousand units in India.
This could be the first time ASUS representatives have mentioned their plans for the next Ally model, making it one of the first portable gaming PCs with news of a second version. Meanwhile, the Steam Deck, market disruptor, confirms that an upgraded version will be released in 2-3 years.
Su also discussed the gaming PC market in India, highlighting the large size of the DIY gaming desktop segment, estimated to be close to a million units. However, sales of branded high-end PCs are considerably smaller due to the preference of non-hardcore gamers, who often opt for gaming laptops that can also serve as general-purpose workstations.
