ASUS has unveiled their flagship power supply unit (PSU) called the ROG Thor 1600W Titanium III, boasting a power output of 1600W, ideal for high-end desktop gaming setups that demand ample power. This isn’t ASUS’s first foray into selling a 1600W PSU, as they previously released the Thor Titanium II model, which offered power options of 1000W, 1200W, and 1600W. However, this time around, they have introduced a model solely dedicated to the 1600W power level.
A notable difference in the Thor Titanium III model from its predecessor, the II, is its support for 12VHPWR plug-in cables right from the start without the need for a converter (unlike the II model, which required a converter). Additionally, it features a new 12V-2×6 connector for modern graphics cards like the 4090.
Another new feature is its compatibility with the ATX 3.1 standard compared to the previous version, which was on version 3.0. Furthermore, users can now detach the OLED screen that displays the power output attached to the front of the PSU.
The price has not been disclosed yet, but information on the webpage states a 10-year warranty.
