Video game sales on the e-commerce platform Taobao have increased by 130% compared to the previous week. Specifically, searches for Wukong have surged nearly 14 times.

PlayStation 5 console sales from the PlayStation store on Tmall have doubled in the 7 days leading up to the game’s release, making PS5 the top-selling hardware on Tmall for 4 consecutive days.

On the second-hand products platform Xianyu, searches for the term “PS5” have grown by 300% in August 2024.

Travel platform Fliggy has seen a twofold increase in searches for travel destinations and hotels in Shanxi province, where many in-game locations are featured. Chinese gamers, inspired by the game, are eager to explore these real-world sites.
