Reliance, a colossal company in India, is planning to build a data center in Chamnakorn city, India, with a whopping capacity of 3 gigawatts for AI operations that are continuously increasing in demand. The estimated cost for this project falls between 20-30 billion dollars.
Upon completion, it is expected that this project will become the largest data center in the world, surpassing Microsoft’s data center in Virginia, which has a capacity of 600 megawatts, currently the largest.
This data center will utilize NVIDIA chips after Reliance and NVIDIA announced their collaboration to establish the infrastructure for AI applications in India last October.
In terms of energy, renewable energy sources from adjacent green energy centers will be utilized, generating energy from solar, wind, and hydrogen.
Reliance has raised over 25 billion dollars in funding in 2020 from Meta, Google, Silver Lake, and many others, making it a leading player in retail and telecommunications in India, and also the most valuable company in the country.
