Brazilian Court Confirms Fine Payment Despite Blockage – Legal Ruling Finds Bank Account Violation

Issue X remains blocked in Brazil. The saga continues as Brazil’s highest court ordered the block of X’s usage in the country. Initially, X refused to comply with the court’s order, leading to the court freezing both X and Starlink’s accounts in Brazil. Prior to this, X informed the Brazilian court that they would delete accounts as per the court’s order and appointed legal representatives. The court then notified X of an additional fine of approximately 60 million Brazilian Reals, resulting from a configuration that allowed Brazilians to access X for a period.

Most recently, X informed Brazil’s highest court that the fine has been paid in full, amounting to 28.6 million reals (174.4 million Brazilian Reals). However, the court has yet to issue an order to unblock X. The court has stated that X must pay this fine to the correct bank account. Once the payment is completed accurately, the court will summon X’s representatives for a hearing before issuing any further unblocking orders.

X’s legal representatives in Brazil have confirmed that the company has transferred the money to the correct account and see no need to engage further with the court if the fine is paid in full. Consequently, X remains blocked in Brazil until further notice.
