Brazilian Court Orders an Additional 60 Million Baht Fine for X, Will Lift X Block Order in Country if Payment is Made

The latest progress of X has been blocked in Brazil after X revealed that the company will comply with the court order and pay the fine, but it seems that it is not yet over.

The highest court in Brazil notified X that the company must pay an additional fine of 10 million reais, or approximately 60 million baht, for not complying with the court order within 2 days of allowing users in Brazil to access the platform. If X pays the fine, the court will immediately lift the blocking order.

This fine is in addition to the initial fine of 18.35 million reais (110 million baht) that Brazil has deducted from the accounts of X and Starlink, which were frozen.

X’s Global Government Affairs account posted a message on this issue, stating that the company respects the sovereignty of the country where it operates. The company will comply with the law while supporting freedom of expression.

TLDR: X’s latest progress in Brazil has been blocked due to non-compliance with a court order, resulting in additional fines and a commitment to uphold the law and support freedom of expression.
