Broadcom closes EUC (VMware Horizon) business sale to KKR for $4 billion dollars.

Investment company KKR has announced an agreement to acquire the End-User Computing (EUC) business from Broadcom in a deal worth approximately $4 billion. Following the completion of the deal, the EUC business will operate as a standalone company.

Originally part of VMware, the EUC business was acquired by Broadcom in 2022 and is responsible for developing solutions for workspace management, desktop management, and various applications. Key products include Horizon for application management on Virtualization (VDI), Workspace ONE, Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), along with other products.

Shankar Iyer, the current head of the EUC business, will continue to oversee this division after it becomes a standalone company under new owner KKR. KKR will focus on selling products to customers of the company’s existing software for various organizations.
