Cancellation of 29 Games and Closure of 7 Studios: Embracer Takes Decisive Action

At the recent corporate briefing, Embracer Group revealed that they have a total of 124 games in development, down from the previous 153 games (29 games lost) within a six-month period after 2023.
Meanwhile, the company also disclosed that they have laid off 1,387 employees, accounting for 8% of the total workforce. They have a total of 132 game studios, reduced from the previous 139 studios (7 closed), and acknowledged the need for further layoffs and restructuring due to their inability to reduce debts as planned.
