Humane, the AI development company, has notified customers to stop using the Charging Case provided with the AI Pin smart wearable due to the risk of fire and explosion posed by third-party batteries used in the case.
The company has ceased using problematic batteries from the manufacturer and is seeking alternative suppliers. Fortunately, other devices such as the AI Pin itself, the Booster extra battery, and the battery charging board remain unaffected.
To compensate for the impact of this issue, Humane is offering a two-month free subscription to use their services but has not disclosed any plans for product replacements.
Previously, the AI Pin, Humane’s flagship product, received negative feedback, particularly from tech reviewer MKBHD, who labeled it as the worst product he has ever reviewed. This backlash has led to reports that Humane is exploring selling the business.

TLDR: Humane urges customers to stop using the Charging Case due to battery risks, offers free subscription as compensation, and faces backlash over AI Pin’s poor reviews.
