Central Brazilian Government Prepares to Block X in the Country if Companies Fail to Comply with Court Orders.

Judge Alexandre de Moraes of the Brazilian Supreme Court has issued an order for X to disclose the names of the legal representatives of companies in Brazil within 24 hours, or else the platform may be shut down in the country.

This court order stems from a previous order by De Moraes to ban over 100 accounts, citing them as disseminating fake news. However, X’s founder, Elon Musk, viewed this as a violation of communication freedom and chose not to comply, instead opting to announce the closure of offices in Brazil for the safety of employees, citing the risk of possible arrests.

The official account of the Brazilian Supreme Court also posted the court order following X’s Global Government Affairs announcement of office closures.
