ChatGPT Unveils Windows App, Following macOS Release by Just 5 Months

OpenAI has released the ChatGPT app for Microsoft’s Windows operating system, following an investment of over $13 billion from Microsoft in OpenAI. The Windows version of ChatGPT is currently in beta testing and is only available to paid users (Plus, Team, Enterprise, Edu) who can download it from the Microsoft Store. The company plans to make the app available to everyone within this year.

The ChatGPT app on Windows supports familiar chatbot usage, can be summoned using the Alt + Space shortcut, allows for file or image uploads, and can access the o1 model in preview mode.

TLDR: OpenAI launches ChatGPT app for Windows, exclusively for paid users, with plans for wider availability later this year.
