Bandai Namco has announced the closure of the online game Blue Protocol in Japan in January 2025. Additionally, the anticipated launch of the game in the Western world through Amazon Games, which was initially slated for 2023, has yet to come to fruition.

Developed by Bandai Namco Online, Blue Protocol was first introduced in 2019 and officially launched in Japan in 2023. The game captivated players with its anime-inspired visuals and MMORPG gameplay style, but unfortunately, it didn’t achieve the desired success in the business aspect, leading to its eventual shutdown.

Aside from Blue Protocol, Bandai Namco Online offers other online games like Gundam Evolution, SD Gundam Operation, and the idol creation game IDOLiSH7.

TLDR: Bandai Namco announces the closure of Blue Protocol in Japan in January 2025, while plans for its Western launch through Amazon Games have yet to materialize. The game, known for its anime aesthetics and MMORPG gameplay, failed to meet business expectations, leading to its discontinuation.
