BYD has unveiled the drone installation system on the “Lingyuan” vehicle, a collaboration with DJI, a leading drone manufacturer, allowing the drone to fly and track vehicles in real-time, capturing a unique perspective of travel at high angles.
The Lingyuan drone is initially being sold in China for approximately 16,000 yuan (around 74,000 baht), including the drone itself, a vehicle-mounted base, drone mount, and an app for tracking the drone, compatible with all BYD models.
BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu stated at the launch event that this collaborative technology goes beyond simply installing a drone on a car, but involves the development of various new technologies together such as vehicle tracking camera systems, rapid data recording systems, and drone charging capabilities.
