Chiang Mai University and Amazon Web Services have collaborated to develop two Generative AI platforms, ChatGen and Matthew, aiming to enhance the efficiency of work and learning for over 52,000 staff and students.
Dr. Chai Rangsriyakul, the director of the Sustainable Urban Management Center at Chiang Mai University, mentioned that the development of these platforms is to address the disparity among students accessing AI models that require varying membership registrations.
ChatGen will work alongside Amazon Nova for general use, such as course recommendations, schedule organization, and curriculum progress tracking. It will seamlessly integrate with the university’s various systems, accessible through web browsers on all devices.
On the other hand, Matthew will focus on academic applications, including answering questions with citations, summarizing content, data and image analysis, document creation, language translation, and even creating intelligent assistants for faculty members.
