IO Interactive (IOI) studio, known for their exceptional work on the Hitman series, has announced the appointment of Rodrigo Santoro as the Missions Director for the upcoming game Project 007. Players will step into the role of James Bond during a period close to Daniel Craig’s portrayal, rather than Roger Moore’s era.
Rodrigo has previously collaborated with Massive Entertainment on games such as The Division, The Division 2, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Starting as a level designer at Massive, his most recent role before departing was as the World Director.
Expressing his excitement to join IOI, Rodrigo commended the studio’s innovative approach to creating memorable gaming experiences. He vowed to deliver the best 007 game the world has ever seen.
Frederik Villumsen, Assistant Director of Product Management at IO Interactive, revealed that they began interviewing Rodrigo a year ago. Rodrigo’s standout qualities and praise from former colleagues made him the ideal candidate to create a positive impact as the Mission Director. He is expected to bring balance to the game’s narrative, art, and gameplay design to ensure the missions for James Bond are top-notch.
IO Interactive aims to make Project 007 the ultimate spycraft fantasy, with expectations of a release around 2025-2026 after an anticipated reveal in September 2022.
TLDR: Rodrigo Santoro joins IO Interactive as Missions Director for Project 007, with plans to create the best James Bond game to date. Anticipated release in 2025-2026.
