At the recent Investor Days event, EA revealed that the upcoming new installment of Battlefield will be developed by a collaboration of four large studios simultaneously.
Dice studio will be in charge of the multiplayer system, while Motive Studio has assembled a new team specifically for narrative and single-player gameplay. Criterion will be developing both single-player and multiplayer aspects, and finally, Ripple Effect studio will work on bringing a “new experience” to the game, to be revealed in the future.
Prior to this announcement, EA stated that the new Battlefield installment will be the company’s most ambitious project yet, returning to the roots that made the game successful.
