Yesterday, aside from the CrowdStrike incident with the Windows update causing a crash, there was another separate occurrence during this chaotic period – Microsoft Azure experienced a disruption in certain areas.
Reports from Microsoft indicate that Azure’s system had specific issues in the Central US region since July 19th, roughly around 5 p.m. Thailand time, and fully recovered around 1 a.m. (prior to the CrowdStrike issue). The cause was attributed to storage malfunction, resulting in an insufficient number of VM machines available for service, impacting any IT system utilizing VM and storage on Azure.
The Azure outage also had ripple effects on other Microsoft services like Microsoft 365. However, at this point, the systems have fully returned to normal.
