OpenAI has announced that the Advanced Voice Mode (AVM) is now available for all paying customers, including ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Team, following testing in limited groups and moving up from the original schedule. Enterprise and Edu customers will be able to use it next week.
The Advanced Voice feature in ChatGPT has also been enhanced with animations in the conversation interface changing from black dots to blue circles. The speed and smoothness of voice output have been improved, and 5 new voices – Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale – have been added, totaling 9 voice options. The Sky voice has been removed due to issues with Scarlett Johansson.
Users of the ChatGPT app will receive notification windows when the Advanced Voice feature is enabled. Additionally, they can customize settings to improve ChatGPT’s responsiveness by referencing the conversation partner’s basic information more effectively.
OpenAI states that ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode will not be available in certain regions such as the European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein.
