Tom Warren, a microsft news journalist from The Verge, has cited internal news and documents from Microsoft, stating that Microsoft is very confident that the Snapdragon X Elite PC, set to hit the market soon, can outperform Apple’s M3 chip.
Microsoft has been striving to push Arm-powered PCs for years without much success, but the arrival of the Snapdragon X Elite, boasting significantly increased performance, might just solve this challenge.
According to Microsoft’s documents, the new PCs will be able to outperform Apple’s M3 in CPU performance, AI workload acceleration, and even running old x86 apps through an emulator, claimed to be faster than Apple’s Rosetta 2.
Microsoft will also introduce a new app called AI Explorer, utilizing NPU chip power to scan for data in our timeline or app usage history, similar to the now-discontinued Timeline feature of Windows 10.
As per Microsoft’s plans, they will announce the AI PC news on May 20th, with expectations of launching the Surface Pro 10 version utilizing Snapdragon X Elite, following the earlier release of the x86 version for businesses.
