Yoshinori Kitase, the producer of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series (and the director of the original FF7 game), granted an interview to the Japanese gaming media 4Gamer confirming that the third installment in the Remake trilogy will definitely not be an exclusive for the next-gen console (referring to the PS6).
Kitase mentioned that players of FF7 Remake on PS4 and FF7 Rebirth on PS5 may assume that Part 3 will be similar. However, he assured that it will not happen for sure, without delving into further details (such as whether it will be released on PC or other consoles simultaneously).
He also revealed that the development team will start working on Part 3 immediately after the release of FF7 Rebirth, which is around March 2024. This means they have been working on it for approximately 9 months now.
