Counterpoint Research Company has released a comprehensive overview of the PC market in the first quarter of 2025. The figures closely resemble those of Gartner’s previous report, showing a growth of 6.7% compared to the first quarter of 2024, with a total of 61.4 million units shipped.
According to Counterpoint, the main drivers of this growth come from PC manufacturers accelerating product deliveries before the US government issues additional import tax orders. Another factor that may impact the market towards the end of the year is the end of support for Windows 10.
Apple and Lenovo saw significant growth in the past quarter, with Apple increasing shipments by 17% thanks to the MacBook M4 chip, while Lenovo saw an 11% increase in shipments from their AI PC product line. All brands experienced an increase in shipments, with the top 5 being Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple, and Asus.
