Creating Palworld: A Multi-Billion Yen Venture Unveiled as CEO Unveils Exceptional Financial Pursuits, Undeniably Demonstrating our Unconventional Business Approach

Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Pocket Pair, the game developer behind the hugely successful Palworld, which has sold over 5 million copies within the first three days of its release and is currently a popular choice among gamers, recently shared some insights on the creation of the game on Note.com. He revealed that over 1 billion yen, or approximately 230 million baht, was invested in its development.

Takuro emphasized that it is impossible for a game company to develop great games without managing their budget effectively, and Pocket Pair is no exception. He also mentioned that limiting the budget does not align with the team’s efforts to create a high-quality game.

Initially, the team aimed to complete Palworld within one year with a development team of just 10 people. They wanted to release the game as quickly as possible to see the player’s response. However, Palworld ended up not being finished within the planned timeframe, and the state of the game was extremely poor at that time. Takuro realized that the team size and budget were insufficient, leading him to borrow money and expand the team to over 40 people, hiring external studios to finally bring Palworld to its current state.

Palworld has been released in Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox Series X/S. Members of the Gass Pass subscription can play the game for free without purchasing it.
