DeepComputing, a company based in Hong Kong, continues to innovate with the release of their latest RISC-V tablet, following the success of the DC-Roma RISC-V Laptop II preloaded with Ubuntu.
Dubbed the DC-ROMA RISC-V Pad II, this tablet boasts a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1200 and is powered by the SpacemiT K1 chip, the same as the laptop. It offers three options for RAM – 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB – and storage options range from 64GB to 128GB of eMMC storage. The device is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery, both front and rear cameras, and runs on Ubuntu 24.04, with future plans to support Android 15 AOSP. Pricing starts at $149 (5,022 baht) for the base model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, going up to $299 for the top-of-the-line model with 16GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
A key question surrounding this tablet is who the target audience is for a RISC-V device. DeepComputing’s response is to target developers interested in RISC-V, offering a device that differs from traditional laptops. Their website even boldly states that the product is “for Native RISC-V Development.”
